HGV Technician – Night Shift (4 on/4 off)

About the role

This permanent, full‑time position is based in a workshop in Stockport and operates on a 4‑on/4‑off night shift (7 pm – 7 am). You will maintain and repair a diverse fleet of tractors, trailers and occasional tankers, earning up to £52,000 plus overtime.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine and preventative maintenance on HGVs.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and perform scheduled servicing to DVSA standards.
• Conduct 6‑ or 8‑weekly inspections and improve overall vehicle standards.
• Inspect and correct electrical wiring and related systems.
• Document work performed and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Required profile

• Fully qualified HGV fitter/mechanic (City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent).
• Additional certifications such as IRTEC or EV qualification are desirable but not essential.
