Highly Specialist Family & Systemic Psychotherapist (Band 8a)

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Band 8a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist to join the Specialist Children’s Services within North CAMHS, based at Woodside Health and Care Centre. The role delivers advanced systemic assessment and therapy to children, young people and families with complex mental health needs, and provides consultancy and supervision across the service.

Key responsibilities

• Autonomous delivery of evidence‑based systemic interventions to children, young people and families.
• Lead and supervise Band 7 systemic psychotherapists.
• Contribute to service development, research, audit and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Provide multi‑agency consultation and advice to CAMHS colleagues, partners and carers.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, training sessions and audit activities.

Required profile

• Masters‑level qualification in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy.
• Registration with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
• Significant post‑qualification experience in systemic practice.
• Advanced clinical leadership, supervision and multi‑agency working skills.
• AFSP approved supervisor status (highly desirable).
• Experience in teaching, training and research (desirable).
