Highways Supervisor – Multiple Sites across Glasgow & South West Scotland

About the role

We are a leading UK infrastructure services provider seeking an experienced Highways Supervisor to oversee a growing portfolio of highways maintenance and civil engineering projects across Glasgow and the South West of Scotland. You will travel between active sites, ensuring works are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise highways maintenance and civil engineering activities across multiple sites.
• Lead daily briefings, toolbox talks and safety discussions.
• Monitor productivity, quality standards and programme performance.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits and safety observations.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors to maximise efficiency.
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders and traffic‑management teams.
• Maintain accurate site records, reports and health & safety documentation.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Highways Supervisor, General Foreman, Works Supervisor or similar.
• Strong background delivering highways maintenance, infrastructure or civil engineering works in live traffic‑managed environments.
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel throughout the region.
• Essential qualifications: SSSTS or SMSTS, CSCS Supervisor Card, First Aid at Work.
• Desirable qualifications: NRSWA Supervisor, Temporary Works Supervisor, NHSS Sector Scheme, traffic‑management certifications.
