About the role
The Royal College of Music is seeking a part‑time Historical Lute Professor to join its International Historical Performance Faculty. The successful candidate will deliver world‑class tuition to undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students, fostering expertise in historical lute performance.
Key responsibilities
- Teach and mentor students at all levels in historical lute repertoire and technique.
- Develop and deliver curriculum for undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes.
- Contribute to the College’s international outreach and collaborative projects.
- Participate in research, concerts and scholarly activities within the Historical Performance department.
Required profile
- Widely recognised performer or teacher of the historical lute.
- Significant teaching experience at undergraduate, postgraduate or doctoral level.
- Established international contacts and a global perspective on music performance.
- Understanding of the professional demands of a music career and commitment to student development.
Required skills
- Expertise in historical lute performance practice.
