HR Consultant – Client‑Facing Role in Brighton

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Consultant to join our growing consultancy team in Brighton. Working alongside specialist employment law solicitors, you will deliver commercially‑focused HR advice to a portfolio of SME clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a dedicated portfolio of SME clients, building long‑term trusted relationships.
• Provide expert guidance on employee‑relations issues such as disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance and capability.
• Act as an outsourced HR function, delivering day‑to‑day advice and support.
• Develop, review and implement HR policies, procedures and documentation.
• Design and deliver HR training sessions as required.
• Support business development initiatives and contribute to client retention.
• Maintain accurate client records and consultancy documentation.

Required profile

• Previous experience in HR consultancy or a generalist HR role.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Proven experience managing employee‑relations cases.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Proactive, commercial and solutions‑focused approach.
• Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities simultaneously.
