HR Coordinator – HR Operations & Development

About the role

We are partnering with a respected professional services firm to hire an HR Coordinator for their Southampton office. The role sits within a supportive HR team and offers exposure to the full employee lifecycle, HR operations, learning and development, and HR systems.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate new‑starter onboarding, prepare contracts and manage pre‑employment checks.
• Track probation periods, contractual changes and maintain personnel files.
• Process salary, promotion and organisational updates and support payroll administration.
• Handle leaver processes and respond to first‑line HR queries.
• Assist with employee‑relations documentation, benefits, recognition and wellbeing initiatives.
• Own day‑to‑day management of the HR information system, update employee data and produce standard and bespoke reports.
• Analyse HR data using Excel, develop reporting functionality and ensure data accuracy.
• Support learning and development programmes, coordinate qualification pathways and track training deadlines.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in an HR role, preferably within a professional services environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a questioning approach to data and reports.
• Ability to work independently and act as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience using an HR information system or HRIS.

• Competitive salary range of £35,000–£37,500 per year.
