Human Resources Internship – Hybrid, Basildon

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Human Resources Intern to join our HR team in Basildon. This two‑year structured internship offers hybrid working and exposure to the full employee lifecycle, supporting recruitment, onboarding, payroll and employee relations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the HR inbox, respond to employee queries and provide general administration.
• Support recruitment activities: advertise vacancies, arrange interviews, prepare offers and onboard new starters.
• Prepare employment documentation, conduct right‑to‑work and reference checks, and maintain employee records.
• Assist payroll administration, including expense processing and employee data updates.
• Carry out HR compliance checks, audits and reporting.
• Coordinate training sessions and maintain learning‑and‑development records.
• Support compensation, benefits and employee recognition initiatives.
• Assist with fleet administration and act as First Aid Appointed Person and Fire Warden.
• Contribute to HR projects, process improvements and internal programmes.

Required profile

• Degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Positive attitude, proactive and customer‑focused.
• Eligibility to work in the UK and ability to commute to Basildon three days a week.
