Inbound Logistics Lead - Materials Management

About the role

An experienced Inbound Logistics Lead is sought to support a major Oil & Gas redevelopment project in the Middle East. The role leads inbound logistics, ensuring the safe, timely and cost-effective movement of materials and equipment from international and local suppliers to operational sites. The position is based in West London / Surrey and is advertised as a contract.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end inbound logistics, including freight, transportation, customs clearance and importation.
• Work with internal teams, suppliers and local partners to ensure supply chain continuity.
• Manage logistics providers, freight forwarders and customs brokers.
• Identify supply chain risks and drive improvements in logistics performance, costs and lead times.
• Ensure compliance with country regulations, trade requirements and HSE standards.
• Support the development of logistics infrastructure, processes and systems.

Required profile

• Proven logistics and supply chain experience, ideally in Oil & Gas, large CAPEX projects or onshore operations.
• Experience in materials management, warehousing and supplier management.
• University degree preferred; CIPS qualification or equivalent desirable.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of international freight, customs clearance and transportation management.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP.
• Commercial awareness, stakeholder management and communication skills.
