Interim Finance Manager – 12 Month Fixed-Term

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Interim Finance Manager to cover a maternity leave for a leading energy and environmental consultancy operating across the UK and Ireland. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will own the day‑to‑day finance function for a 12‑month fixed‑term assignment starting September 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts from start to finish.
• Execute month‑end processes including accruals, pre‑payments, fixed assets and reconciliations.
• Handle VAT accounting, audit support and statutory reporting.
• Manage inter‑company transactions, revenue recognition, provisions and taxation matters.
• Maintain financial accuracy across multiple entities, including overseas branch reporting.
• Support the Finance Director with board reporting and business performance analysis.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on finance projects and operational improvements.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or equivalent finance qualification.
• Proven experience at Finance Manager level within an SME or mid‑sized organisation.
• Strong management accounting background with ability to produce accounts independently.
• Available to start in September 2026.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Confidence working with ERP/accounting systems.
