Interim Financial Controller

About the role

This interim position supports a private‑equity‑backed services organisation during a period of change. Reporting to the Finance Leadership Team, you will own the production of high‑quality management accounts and provide commercial insight that drives operational and strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the finance team through the transition to Microsoft Dynamics Finance & Operations.
• Prepare and manage weekly cash‑flow forecasts, ensuring robust treasury oversight.
• Maintain balance‑sheet integrity through rigorous reconciliations and continuous improvement.
• Build strong relationships with non‑finance stakeholders to enhance collaboration.
• Own budgeting and forecasting processes to support effective business planning.
• Manage the financial audit process, ensuring readiness and smooth delivery.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with solid post‑qualification experience.
• Proven ability to partner with non‑finance stakeholders and add commercial value.
• Experience in construction, property services or other project‑based environments.
• Confidence handling change initiatives such as system migrations.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, modelling).
• Power BI and Power Query for reporting transformation.
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 – Business Central or Finance & Operations.
