Interim Financial Controller

About the role

Elevation Recruitment Group is partnering with a well‑established manufacturing business in Leeds to secure an experienced Interim Financial Controller on a 9‑12 month fixed‑term basis. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will lead the finance function, ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls and proactive business partnering to drive operational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes, delivering timely management accounts and board reports.
• Prepare monthly financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow statements.
• Partner with operational and manufacturing teams to improve profitability and performance.
• Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Manage and develop the finance team, supporting external audit and statutory reporting.
• Identify and implement process improvements across finance and reporting.
• Provide detailed costing and margin analysis for commercial decisions.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance leader in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of standard costing, product costing and manufacturing accounting.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with operational stakeholders and support manufacturing sites.
