Interim Head of Finance (6‑month contract)

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established care charity to recruit an Interim Head of Finance on a six‑month contract. You will lead the finance function through the critical annual budgeting cycle, drive improvements in financial planning and forecasting, and support the rollout of a new planning tool to enhance reporting and business insight.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting and planning process.
• Support the implementation of a new financial planning system.
• Produce insightful management reporting and financial analysis.
• Partner with budget holders and senior leaders to support decision‑making.
• Oversee monthly management accounts, cash‑flow forecasting and financial controls.
• Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance.
• Lead and develop a small finance team.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA).
• Proven experience leading finance in a complex organisation.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and FP&A experience.
• Commercial, business‑partnering approach.
• Excellent stakeholder management and clear communication of financial information.
• Charity sector experience is beneficial but not essential.
