IS Operator – 12 Month Fixed Term – £38k-£40.5k

About the role

The IS Operator is responsible for the smooth operation of the IS machine within Encirc's glass manufacturing plant. Working a 4‑on/4‑off shift pattern, you will ensure production runs efficiently while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the IS machine throughout each shift.
• Inspect bottle sets for defects, including gauging, and take corrective action.
• Monitor radar systems and respond to any process changes.
• Report potential or suspected quality defects to supervision promptly.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.

Required profile

• Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of glass manufacturing processes and procedures.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
• Excellent attention to detail with consistently high quality standards.
• Proactive mindset with problem‑solving initiative and ownership.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
• Flexibility to meet changing production demands.
