IT Support Technician – Contractor

About the role

The IT Support Technician will provide 2nd and 3rd line ICT support across multiple schools, working closely with the ICT Network Manager, school staff and the central service desk. The role combines on‑site visits and remote assistance to ensure reliable hardware, software and network services for staff and students.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 2nd and 3rd line support to UK staff, school personnel and pupils.
• Perform routine maintenance of computer hardware, servers and network infrastructure to meet availability targets.
• Diagnose and resolve IT faults through on‑site visits and remote tools within agreed service levels.
• Install and configure approved hardware and licensed software following company policies.
• Maintain accurate site documentation, including hardware and software inventories.
• Manage user accounts for staff and students in accordance with security procedures.
• Monitor and verify server backups to protect system and user data.
• Oversee physical and network security, reporting risks or incidents to relevant managers.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested.
