IT Technician / IT Support Technician

About the role

We are looking for an IT Technician to join a leading school in South Croydon. The role offers a varied day‑to‑day environment, opportunities for further training and clear progression into senior positions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1st and 2nd line support to staff, students and visitors.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues across a range of devices.
• Install, configure and deploy software applications and operating systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot the school’s network infrastructure.
• Log incidents and solutions via the service desk and attend on‑site when required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in IT support, handling both hardware and software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a friendly team.
• Strong communication skills for face‑to‑face and remote assistance.
• Willingness to develop further technical expertise.
• Experience in an education environment is a plus but not essential.

Required skills

• Hardware installation and maintenance.
• Software installation, configuration and deployment.
• Networking knowledge and troubleshooting.
• 1st and 2nd line support processes.
• Familiarity with service‑desk ticketing systems.
