IT Technician – Support & Networking (Coventry)

About the role

Mobile Testing Solutions Ltd is seeking an IT Technician to provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for its examination services across the UK. The role is based in Coventry with regular travel to test venues, offering a blend of on‑site maintenance and remote troubleshooting.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver first‑ and second‑line IT support for existing and new exam sites.
• Monitor and maintain physical IT and network infrastructure, including access controls, endpoint detection and patch management.
• Travel to MTS test venues to install, run and de‑commission pop‑up examination sites.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in line with MTS and partner procedures.
• Guide and support local MTS IT technicians.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date inventory of IT equipment.
• Participate in IT projects and on‑call duties during weekends as scheduled.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in IT or a related field.
• Minimum two years’ experience in IT/network support.
• Strong knowledge of IT systems, networking and security principles.
• Experience in the education or examination sector is desirable.

Required skills

• Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 administration
• DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, Group Policy and WSUS
• Network management (CCNA certification desirable)
• Ethernet cabling and network switch configuration
• Endpoint detection and patch management
• IT security and hardware/software troubleshooting
