Junior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a bright, ambitious Junior Accountant to join a well‑established practice in Stoke‑on‑Trent. This is an entry‑level position ideal for candidates who have recently qualified with AAT and are beginning their ACCA/ACA journey.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare annual accounts for limited and non‑limited companies.
• Assist with statutory audits and produce draft accounts and tax computations.
• Generate management accounts, cash‑flow statements and budgets.
• Provide a full range of company secretarial services.
• Organise workload to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
• Review client records, flag deficiencies and help improve bookkeeping systems.
• Collaborate with client managers to define account preparation approaches.
• Support clients with accounting software installation and training.
• Attend internal training workshops.

Required profile

• Newly AAT qualified, preferably studying early ACCA/ACA exams.
• Minimum of 1 year practice experience.
• Tech‑savvy, people‑oriented and comfortable with IT tools.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as Iris, Sage, QuickBooks and Xero.
