Junior Category Manager

About the role

Toolstation is seeking a Junior Category Manager to join its commercial team in Northampton. You will own the customer proposition, drive product innovation, influence trading margins and support the wider commercial strategy while building strong relationships with stores and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Understand the retail market and category performance, monitoring key trends.
• Develop and maintain continuous relationships with suppliers, ensuring performance and service.
• Prepare accurate commercial plans aligned with business objectives.
• Review promotional activity and implement learnings to improve margins.

Required profile

• Current experience in a buying or commercial team, ready to step up.
• Excellent negotiation, influencing and communication skills.
• Passion for delivering the best deals for customers.
• Analytical ability to monitor sales, profit results and adjust product ranges.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
• Numeracy and experience managing costs and budgets.
