Junior Electronic Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Electronic Design Engineer to join a fast‑growing consumer electronics company in Cambridge. The role offers a hybrid working model with three days on‑site each week and the chance to work on hardware projects from concept through to testing.

Key responsibilities

• Develop electronic hardware, including specification, design, implementation and testing.
• Support EMC design, testing and compliance activities.
• Perform product testing for functionality, reliability and safety.
• Carry out PCB rework and assist with prototyping.
• Manage assigned work packages, provide progress updates and meet deadlines.
• Coordinate with external suppliers and contract manufacturers.
• Create and maintain test procedures for lab and manufacturing environments.
• Produce clear, professional test reports.

Required profile

• Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 1 year of post‑university experience, or a sandwich degree with a year in industry.
• Right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
• Enthusiastic about product development in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Analog circuit design.
• SMPS design.
• EMC/EMI compliance.
• PCB design and schematic capture (Altium preferred).
• Use of oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, current probes and power supplies.
