Junior IT Support Engineer (1st Line) – Manchester

About the role

We are looking for a personable Junior IT Support Engineer to join our service‑delivery team in Manchester. This first‑line position blends desk‑side ticket handling with occasional on‑site visits, offering a fast‑paced environment where you will work alongside senior engineers and develop practical IT skills.

Key responsibilities

• Log, prioritise and resolve support tickets submitted by end users.
• Provide first‑line technical assistance for Microsoft 365, networking and hardware issues.
• Set up, repair and install devices both remotely and on‑site.
• Deliver excellent customer service via phone, email and face‑to‑face interactions.
• Escalate complex problems to senior engineers when required.

Required profile

• Strong communication and customer‑service orientation.
• Logical, methodical approach to troubleshooting.
• Willingness to travel to client sites; full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
• Positive attitude, reliability and a desire to learn.

Required skills

• Basic administration and support of Microsoft 365.
• Fundamental understanding of networking concepts.
• Knowledge of common IT hardware components and troubleshooting.
