Junior Software Engineer – Financial Markets Technology

About the role

Join a leading global investment bank as a Junior Software Engineer in the Financial Markets Technology division. Through the Inspire Academy Programme you will gain hands‑on experience on critical trading, risk and market‑data platforms while receiving structured technical, business and professional development training.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java or Python applications, APIs and micro‑services.
• Participate in Agile development cycles, code reviews and testing activities.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes and integrations for large‑scale financial data sets.
• Monitor production systems, investigate incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and automate operational tasks.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and business users to troubleshoot defects and improve platform stability.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or a related STEM field.
• Strong programming ability in Java or Python and solid understanding of object‑oriented principles.
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Passion for technology and a desire to build a long‑term career in financial markets.
