Junior to Intermediate M&E Cost Manager – Data Centres

About the role

Our client is a specialist cost consultancy delivering major data centre projects across the UK and Europe. They are seeking a Junior to Intermediate M&E Cost Manager to join the pre‑construction team, providing cost planning and advisory services on technically complex, mission‑critical developments.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and develop M&E cost plans from feasibility through detailed design.
• Support pre‑construction cost advice, including budgets, estimates and option appraisals.
• Produce elemental cost breakdowns and benchmark M&E systems for data centre projects.
• Collaborate with senior cost managers, design teams and clients to ensure cost certainty.
• Assist with value engineering and cost optimisation during early design stages.
• Support tender documentation, procurement and tender analysis as experience permits.

Required profile

• 1–4 years’ experience in M&E cost management or quantity surveying.
• Demonstrable pre‑construction experience with involvement in M&E cost planning.
• Experience in data centres, mission‑critical, life‑science or complex commercial projects is highly desirable.
• Degree‑qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Building Services or similar.
• Working towards RICS membership is advantageous but not essential.
