Key Account Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Key Account Manager to join our commercial team in Basildon. You will own a portfolio of high‑value customers, manage specialist projects from enquiry to delivery and build long‑term relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Manage relationships with a portfolio of key customer accounts.
• Coordinate specialist customer projects from enquiry through to completion.
• Prepare quotations, ensure accurate pricing, costs and documentation.
• Process customer orders and monitor progress through the supply chain.
• Work closely with internal teams to deliver projects on time.
• Support tender submissions and RFQs.
• Liaise with suppliers and logistics providers.
• Maintain accurate customer records and CRM data.
• Resolve customer queries and provide outstanding service.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and customer experience.

Required profile

• Around 5 years’ experience in account management, customer service or commercial support.
• Proven experience managing key customer relationships.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Strong administration and project coordination skills.
• Ability to prioritise a busy workload and meet deadlines.
• Good Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience with CRM or ERP systems is advantageous.
• Import/export or logistics knowledge beneficial but not essential.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused approach with high attention to detail.

• Salary £40,000‑£55,000 depending on experience.
• 10 % discretionary annual bonus.
• 37.5‑hour week, Monday‑Friday 9:00‑17:30.
