Key Account Manager – Technical Sales (Wire Rope)

About the role

This position is based on‑site in Hemel Hempstead and focuses on managing strategic accounts for the Wire Rope Division. You will act as the primary contact for key customers, driving retention, growth and profitability through a proactive, technical‑sales approach.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop a portfolio of strategic key accounts within the Wire Rope Division.
• Build strong relationships with decision‑makers, engineers and operational stakeholders.
• Increase customer spend, share of wallet and overall profitability.
• Develop and maintain structured Key Account Plans and regular business reviews.
• Identify cross‑selling and upselling opportunities and support inbound enquiries and quotations.
• Collaborate with internal Sales, Operations, Purchasing and Leadership teams.
• Maintain accurate forecasts, account plans and CRM records.
• Support contract negotiations, pricing discussions and commercial agreements.

Required profile

• Proven track record in Key Account Management, business development or strategic sales.
• Strong background in technical sales, preferably within manufacturing, engineering, construction materials, safety or wire‑rope industries.
• Self‑driven, ambitious and comfortable in a performance‑led culture.

Required skills

• Technical product knowledge of wire rope and related engineering applications.

• Base salary of approximately £50,000 per year.
