Key Stage 1 Leader – Year 2 (0.6 FTE)

About the role

Signhills Infant Academy is seeking an inspirational Key Stage 1 Leader to guide our Year 2 cohort. This part‑time (0.6 FTE) position runs Monday to Wednesday and plays a pivotal role in preparing pupils for the transition to Junior school.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Year 2 teachers, modelling outstanding practice and delivering a novel‑based curriculum.
• Provide strategic direction for all of KS1 (Year 1 and Year 2) in partnership with the Senior Leadership Team.
• Oversee end‑of‑key‑stage assessments and manage the transition process to Key Stage 2.
• Collaborate with the Year 2 team and part‑time counterpart to ensure seamless continuity for pupils.
• Take on subject‑leadership responsibilities for an area to be determined.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with successful primary teaching experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in Year 2 practice and KS1 assessment/moderation.
• Resilient leader able to inspire staff and build strong relationships with parents.
• Passion for reading‑rich, problem‑driven learning that sparks curiosity.

Required skills

• Knowledge of KS1 curriculum and assessment frameworks.
• Ability to lead and develop teaching teams.

What we offer

• Salary range £23,773‑£30,628 per annum plus a £2,166 teaching and learning reward.
• Part‑time (0.6 FTE) role, Monday‑Wednesday.
