Key Stage 2 Primary Teacher – Maternity Cover

About the role

Aspire People is partnering with a primary academy in Stockport to provide maternity cover for a Key Stage 2 teacher. This full‑time position starts in October 2026 and will run for 9‑12 months, teaching a Year 3 or Year 4 class depending on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the KS2 curriculum.
• Assess pupils using formative and summative methods and use data to inform next steps.
• Create an inclusive classroom where every child can access learning safely.
• Collaborate with colleagues, support staff and senior leadership to enhance pupil outcomes.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent experience teaching Key Stage 1 in a UK school.
• Ability to teach KS2 content for Year 3/4 and adapt to the academy’s expectations.
• Commitment to safeguarding and completing enhanced DBS checks.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and assessment practices.
• Effective classroom management and inclusive teaching strategies.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a school team.
