KS2 Teaching Assistant – Term‑time (Blackpool)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to join our Blackpool Academy for the 2026/2027 academic year on a term‑time basis. The role supports pupils aged 7‑11, helping them achieve their full potential in a caring, inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver targeted intervention for small groups in Maths and English to close attainment gaps.
• Provide whole‑class support alongside the classroom teacher, fostering positive relationships and managing behaviour through emotional coaching.
• Assist with lesson preparation, resource organisation, and monitoring of pupil progress.
• Contribute to the school’s trauma‑informed practice and promote student well‑being.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a KS2 Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
• Strong knowledge of the KS2 National Curriculum, especially literacy, reading and numeracy.
• Commitment to the school’s inclusive values and ability to act as an emotionally available support for pupils.
• Flexibility to work either as an Intervention Lead, General Class TA, or a hybrid of both.
