KS3 Student Support Assistant (SEN/Autism)

About the role

This full‑time position supports Key Stage 3 pupils with autism and additional needs in a specialist provision in Cambridgeshire. You will work alongside teaching staff to create a calm, inclusive environment that balances academic learning with emotional and therapeutic support.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day academic and pastoral support for students.
• Assist teaching staff in delivering learning activities and preparing materials.
• Promote pupils’ emotional wellbeing, social development, and engagement.
• Supervise students during breaks, lunchtimes and unstructured periods.
• Accompany pupils on educational visits and extracurricular activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent, high‑quality support.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting Key Stage 3 students.
• Strong interest in working with autism or additional needs.
• Patience, adaptability, resilience, and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.
