Laboratory Scientist – Part‑time (up to 22.5 hrs/week)

About the role
You will perform compliant laboratory testing to ensure product quality and safety, collaborating closely with manufacturing, quality and technical teams. The position values practical problem‑solving, meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out routine analytical tests on raw materials following approved procedures.
- Maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure reliable data.
- Record, interpret and report accurate results using laboratory information systems.
- Support investigations, deviations and corrective actions to maintain product quality.
- Train colleagues on methods, systems and good laboratory practice.
- Contribute to continuous‑improvement projects that reduce waste and enhance lab efficiency.
Required profile
- HND, HNC, Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a scientific discipline, or relevant practical laboratory experience.
- Experience in an analytical laboratory within a regulated environment.
- Practical knowledge of laboratory instrumentation and good laboratory practice.
- Experience with laboratory information systems and accurate data recording.
- Ability to follow procedures precisely and work independently when required.
