Lead Education Child Protection Practitioner

About the role
Join a multi‑agency child protection team as the Lead Education Child Protection Practitioner. You will represent the education perspective in complex safeguarding investigations, ensuring children receive timely support while fostering strong partnership working.
Key responsibilities
- Provide expert education and safeguarding advice during child protection investigations and strategy meetings.
- Build and maintain relationships with schools, colleges and other education providers.
- Collaborate with Designated Safeguarding Leads to gather and analyse information for statutory decisions.
- Support and quality‑assure education reports for Child Protection Conferences and attend conferences when appropriate.
- Contribute to Section 47 enquiries, multi‑agency decision making and safeguarding planning.
- Promote best practice across SEND, SEMH, attendance and wider educational provision.
- Identify trends, share expertise and drive service improvement across agencies.
Required profile
- Significant experience in an education setting, preferably in a safeguarding leadership role.
- Experience as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or Deputy DSL.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), HLTA or equivalent recognised education qualification.
- Minimum five years in teaching or an education support role.
- Level 3 Safeguarding Children qualification.
- Strong knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education, statutory guidance and child protection legislation.
- Understanding of SEND, SEMH, attendance and factors affecting vulnerable children.

What we offer
- 12‑month fixed‑term contract with a salary of £48,000–£49,000 per annum.
- Hybrid working model (2‑3 days onsite per week) in West London.
