Lead Maintenance Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Maintenance Engineer to join a fast‑growing manufacturing company in the North West. The role combines hands‑on maintenance work with leadership of a small engineering team, offering a clear path for technical and personal development.

Key responsibilities

• Perform fault‑finding, reactive and planned maintenance on mechanical and electrical manufacturing equipment.
• Set daily maintenance tasks and drive breakdown analysis to minimise downtime.
• Manage supplier contracts and ensure compliance with service agreements.
• Lead key improvement projects and continuous‑improvement initiatives across the plant.
• Take ownership of servicing, repairs and the overall reliability of production machinery.

Required profile

• Current Maintenance Engineer with an electro‑mechanical background.
• NVQ Level 3 in Maintenance Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Ambition to step into a lead or supervisory position.
• Previous experience of supervising or leading a small team is advantageous.
