Lead of Transaction Monitoring (Enterprise)

About the role

Paysend is seeking a Lead of Transaction Monitoring (Enterprise) to own the detection of suspicious activity across all products and payment methods, and to drive a modern, AI‑powered transaction monitoring programme.

Key responsibilities

• Define and deliver the enterprise TM strategy, OKRs and multi‑year roadmap aligned with the company’s risk appetite.
• Lead the TM Enterprise Program end‑to‑end, managing scope, roadmap, budget, dependencies, risks and governance.
• Own the enterprise‑wide TM framework, including scenario design, rule lifecycle, thresholds and model governance.
• Ensure regulatory compliance across all licensed jurisdictions and prepare TM for audits and regulator reviews.
• Build, lead and develop a high‑performing TM team of analysts, rule owners and data/automation specialists.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in transaction monitoring and AML/financial crime, preferably in fintech or high‑volume payments.
• Proven track record of owning OKRs/KRs and delivering multi‑stream programmes with senior stakeholder management.
• Deep knowledge of AML/CTF regulations (e.g., FCA, EU AMLD, FATF) and experience supporting regulator and auditor reviews.
• Strong understanding of fraud typologies in cross‑border payments and Visa/Mastercard monitoring programmes.

Required skills

• SQL and BI tools for data interrogation and KPI definition.
• Data‑platform fluency and automation experience.
• Machine‑learning concepts for anomaly detection and advanced analytics.
• Experience with transaction monitoring scenario design, rule tuning and effectiveness testing.
