Lead Project Superintendent – Highview Power Liquid Air Energy Storage

About the role

Bilfinger UK is seeking an experienced Lead Project Superintendent to take overall site‑based construction ownership of the Highview Power Liquid Air Energy Storage project in Carrington, Manchester. This senior leadership position is responsible for safe, programme‑compliant and quality‑assured delivery of the Stability Island scope.

Key responsibilities

• Provide single‑point construction leadership for all E&I, Mechanical, Piping and Steelwork activities, ensuring safe delivery to mechanical completion and handover.
• Direct and coordinate discipline Superintendents and the appointed lifting person, maintaining an integrated workfront.
• Lead daily site coordination, weekly look‑ahead and interface meetings with civil teams, Highview, vendors and statutory bodies.
• Champion a zero‑harm safety culture, chair safety stand‑downs and enforce Life‑Saving Rules.
• Own RAMS approval, Permit to Work coordination, lift‑plan review and SIMOPS management across all subcontractors.

Required profile

• Proven multi‑discipline construction leader with a track record delivering large‑scale onshore EPC projects under NEC4 contract conditions.
• Ability to integrate multiple subcontractors, vendors and trades into a coherent workfront while protecting safety and programme.
• Senior‑level experience managing complex mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, piping and structural steelwork packages.
