Learning Support Assistant – Basildon (Full‑time)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming school in Basildon from September. The role involves supporting pupils academically and socially within an inclusive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group learning support to pupils with additional needs.
• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and delivery.
• Help pupils develop confidence, independence, and positive behaviour.
• Monitor and record progress, reporting to teachers and parents as required.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom atmosphere.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills and a patient, nurturing approach.
• Experience supporting children in a UK school setting (placements accepted).
• Relevant Teaching Assistant or Learning Support qualifications are desirable.
• Up‑to‑date safeguarding training (within the last year) is preferred.
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Two professional child‑related references.

• Daily rate of £90‑£100, depending on experience.
