Lecturer – Communication and Media (Teaching & Scholarship)

About the role

The university seeks a Lecturer in Communication and Media to deliver high‑quality teaching and scholarship. You will engage undergraduate and postgraduate students through enquiry‑led, active‑learning approaches and contribute to curriculum development.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver lectures, seminars and workshops in communication theory and research methods.
• Develop innovative curricula that incorporate digital and creative pedagogy.
• Assess student work, provide feedback and support progression tracking.
• Contribute to the department’s research profile and international reputation.
• Collaborate with colleagues on quality‑assurance processes and academic initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience teaching in higher education, preferably in communication or media studies.
• Strong scholarly record or potential in communication theory, media research, or related fields.
• Ability to integrate current scholarship and professional practice into teaching.
• Engagement with industry, external partners, or the third sector is desirable.

Required skills

• Expertise in communication and media theory and/or research methods.
• Familiarity with digital and creative pedagogical tools.
• Competence in curriculum design and assessment strategies.
