About the role
The School of GeoSciences at the University of Edinburgh is seeking a full‑time Lecturer in Hydrology to join its teaching team and research community. You will contribute to the BSc (Hons) Geography programme and develop a high‑quality research portfolio in hydrological science.
Key responsibilities
- Design, deliver and assess undergraduate courses, including practical and field‑based components.
- Provide pastoral care and supervise both undergraduate and graduate students.
- Develop and lead research projects in hydrology, securing funding and publishing results.
- Engage in knowledge exchange activities and interdisciplinary collaborations.
- Contribute to departmental administration and institute citizenship.
Required profile
- PhD in a hydrology‑related discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct high‑quality hydrological research.
- Willingness to collaborate on interdisciplinary, challenge‑led research topics.
- Enthusiasm for teaching and ability to inspire students.
