Legal Counsel – Ship & Asset Finance

About the role

MSC is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its Corporate Finance Department in Geneva. You will provide high‑level legal expertise on complex financing structures, vessel transactions, and strategic investments that support MSC’s global fleet expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Manage financing transactions from term sheet to closing, including shipbuilding contracts and vessel delivery.
• Lead drafting and negotiation of contracts for asset financings such as traditional and ECA loan facilities, tax leases, off‑balance‑sheet schemes, and hedging agreements (ISDA, CSA).
• Negotiate corporate financing documents including revolving credit facilities, bond issuances, securitisation, and reverse factoring.
• Oversee contracts related to construction, supervision, delivery, and sale‑purchase of various vessel types.
• Drive negotiations with external counterparties and coordinate external advisers.
• Implement operational procedures for expense validation, bank account opening, and archiving system improvements.
• Monitor compliance with group commitments and report issues to Finance Directors.

Required profile

• Legal expertise in corporate finance and maritime asset transactions.
• Experience handling complex financing structures and contract negotiations.
