Local Authority Housing Solutions Officer, South West London

About the role

The Housing Solutions Officer will work proactively with households at risk of homelessness across South West London, providing advice and practical support to retain current accommodation or secure alternative housing. You will collaborate closely with the Housing Solutions Team Manager and contribute to the development of the service.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with private and social tenants, homeowners, and vulnerable households facing homelessness.
• Assess needs, develop practical steps and agreements for households and the Council to prevent or relieve homelessness.
• Meet performance targets and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Promote the Council’s housing services and raise their profile within the community.
• Support the Team Manager in service development and day‑to‑day operations.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a Housing Solutions or similar role within a Local Authority.
• Ability to work with vulnerable clients and manage complex cases.
• Strong organisational skills and a results‑oriented approach.
• Excellent communication and collaborative abilities.
