Machine/Production Operative – Blunham (Temp/Perm)

About the role

Join a leading manufacturing operation as a Machine/Production Operative at the DS Smith facility in Blunham, Bedford. You will work on state‑of‑the‑art machinery, gaining hands‑on experience while contributing to daily production targets. The role offers a mix of day and night 12‑hour shifts with overtime opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and monitor production machinery.
• Maintain a clean and tidy work area and keep equipment in good condition.
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
• Perform quality checks on finished products.
• Meet customer demand schedules and deadlines.
• Assist the shift manager with additional tasks as required.

Required profile

• Positive, "can‑do" attitude and willingness to learn.
• Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment (desirable).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to stand on your feet for long periods and handle manual loads.
• Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends and overtime.
