Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who will lead R&D projects from concept through to full production. The role combines hands‑on engineering on the shop floor with detailed design work, allowing you to see your ideas become real machines.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical designs for new converting machinery, covering the entire product lifecycle.
• Re‑engineer existing equipment to improve efficiency, durability, cost and weight.
• Conduct prototype testing, assembly and machine/factory acceptance testing.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and customers, providing technical support during production and testing phases.
• Manage multiple projects (2‑3) simultaneously, balancing design, testing and documentation tasks.

Required profile

• Qualified Mechanical Engineer with a strong interest in design engineering.
• Hands‑on attitude and willingness to work on the production floor.
• Ability to juggle several projects at different stages.
• Experience in R&D or new product development environments.

Required skills

• Mechanical design and engineering.
• Prototype testing and validation.
• Machine assembly and acceptance testing.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes.
