Managing Consultant

About the role

As a Managing Consultant in CIPFA Solutions, you will lead and deliver client projects, build strong relationships with public sector clients, and support the growth of advisory services focused on financial management.

Key responsibilities

• Support development and delivery of the Financial Management Advisory Services strategy and annual business plans.
• Deliver financial management income targets and represent CIPFA Solutions at senior leadership and external events.
• Build and maintain relationships with senior public sector stakeholders and develop integrated advisory solutions.
• Manage project delivery, ensuring projects are on time, within budget, and meet agreed objectives.
• Provide day‑to‑day leadership of the Financial Management team, including performance reviews and recruitment.

Required profile

• CIPFA‑qualified accountant or equivalent professional qualification with significant public sector financial management experience.
• Proven ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders, lead teams, manage budgets and projects, and deliver high‑quality outcomes.
• Strong analytical, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
