Manufacturing Buyer – Liverpool

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Buyer to join a well‑established manufacturing business in Liverpool. You will play a pivotal part in securing raw materials, components and services, ensuring production runs smoothly and cost‑effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Source and purchase raw materials, components and services to support manufacturing operations.
• Manage supplier relationships, monitoring quality, cost and delivery performance.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts and lead times to achieve optimal commercial outcomes.
• Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production planning to maintain material availability.
• Identify and implement cost‑saving initiatives while maintaining quality standards.
• Resolve supplier issues related to quality, shortages or delivery delays.
• Analyse supplier performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain accurate purchasing data within the ERP/MRP system.
• Stay informed on market trends, pricing and supply‑chain risks.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Buyer, Purchasing Officer or Procurement Coordinator in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation and supplier‑management capabilities.
• Experience purchasing materials, components or engineering products.
• Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
