About the role

Rolls‑Royce is looking for experienced Manufacturing Engineers to join its Defence business in Bristol. You will work across a range of current and future programmes, helping to design, develop and industrialise manufacturing processes for next‑generation defence products.

Key responsibilities

  • Create, develop, validate and continuously improve manufacturing and assembly processes, digital systems and methods of manufacture.
  • Ensure all new processes and materials comply with Health, Safety & Environmental standards and the Zero Harm Programme.
  • Collaborate with design, supply‑chain, operations and external partners to influence design for manufacture and assembly requirements.
  • Work with a wide supply‑chain and subject‑matter experts to integrate processes into Rolls‑Royce sites.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for new or improved manufacturing technologies and digital systems.
  • Manage and communicate change to programme directors, customers and the supply chain.
  • Oversee budgets, resources and technical content to deliver internal capability in line with programme needs.

Required profile

  • Experience in manufacturing process development and industrialisation.
  • Background in advanced manufacturing technologies and Design for Manufacture/Assembly (DfM/DfA).
  • Exposure to composite material development or manufacturing.
  • Experience with additive layer manufacturing of aerospace components.
  • Knowledge of setting up new factories, designing layouts and specifying machines.
  • Familiarity with single‑crystal casting.
  • Supplier development and capability assessment experience.
