Manufacturing Quality Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to join a high‑reliability aerospace and defence programme in Portsmouth. You will own the improvement of a struggling production area, driving measurable gains in quality and delivery performance within a regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) initiatives to address non‑conformances.
• Manage non‑conformance (NC) processes and ensure robust documentation.
• Conduct root‑cause investigations using 8D, 5 Whys and RCCA techniques.
• Maintain compliance with build and quality standards across engineering and production teams.
• Support continuous process control and promote a strong quality culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Quality or Manufacturing Engineer in aerospace, defence or a similar high‑reliability sector.
• Solid understanding of quality and compliance standards in regulated environments.
• Demonstrated ability to drive improvement projects and manage NCs.
