Materials Scheduler

About the role

The Materials Scheduler will ensure timely and cost‑effective availability of raw materials and packaging for ambient and chill production lines. This role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule material deliveries to meet production requirements across 10 production lines.
• Collaborate with the Planning team to resolve stock issues and adapt to short‑notice production changes.
• Maintain stock parameters to achieve efficient purchasing and delivery profiles while meeting target inventory levels.
• Expedite or defer orders based on demand forecast adjustments.
• Liaise with international suppliers, third‑party hauliers, Customs & Excise, and manage currency‑related processes.
• Coordinate supplier activities and manage external communications as required.
• Utilise APO production planning systems to extract data, monitor performance, and generate reports.
• Control material‑related costs, including storage, haulage, and demurrage, within budget constraints.
• Provide cross‑cover within the Planning team and undertake additional duties to support business needs.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of material scheduling, inventory management, and manufacturing operations.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in material scheduling and inventory management within a high‑volume environment.
• Proven ability to manage daily operations and project work in a complex, fast‑changing setting.
• Experience using APO production planning systems.
