About the role

The Shasta Lake School is seeking a dedicated Math Teacher for grades 6‑8. The role involves delivering a comprehensive mathematics curriculum within a departmentalized setting, fostering student engagement and academic growth.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver daily math lessons aligned with state standards for grades 6‑8.
• Develop and adapt instructional materials to meet diverse learning needs, including individualized and small‑group instruction.
• Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, maintain accurate records, and communicate results to parents.
• Maintain a positive classroom environment, establish behavior expectations, and promote a culture of respect and curiosity.
• Administer district‑wide standardized tests and contribute to curriculum development initiatives.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to coordinate instructional strategies and extracurricular activities.

Required profile

• Valid teaching credential for secondary mathematics.
• Experience teaching middle‑school students, preferably in a departmentalized or team‑teaching model.
• Strong knowledge of middle‑school mathematics content and pedagogical best practices.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and district initiatives.
