Maths Teacher – Special Educational Needs (Chiswick)

About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join our specialist school in Chiswick, delivering high‑quality mathematics to pupils with Special Educational Needs. The role involves teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, including Functional Skills and GCSE Foundation maths, and adapting lessons to diverse learning profiles.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging maths lessons for Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Teach Functional Skills Maths and support learners working towards the qualification.
- Provide GCSE Foundation maths instruction where appropriate.
- Adapt resources and teaching strategies to meet a wide range of abilities and SEND requirements.
- Monitor student progress and produce personalised learning plans.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists and pastoral staff.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching mathematics in mainstream secondary schools.
- Demonstrated experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs.
- Good knowledge of Functional Skills Maths.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
