M&E Clerk of Works – Healthcare & Defence

About the role

We are seeking an M&E Clerk of Works to support projects in the healthcare and defence sectors across the UK. You will join a high‑calibre consultancy team and ensure mechanical and electrical works meet the highest standards in complex, compliance‑driven environments.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out site inspections of M&E installations across multiple project sites.
• Monitor quality, compliance and adherence to specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Report progress, defects and workmanship standards to the project team.
• Liaise with contractors, consultants and client representatives.
• Ensure works comply with sector‑specific regulations for healthcare and defence.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an M&E Clerk of Works, Site Inspector or Building Services Inspector.
• Strong knowledge of M&E systems, installations and compliance standards.
• Experience working in regulated environments such as healthcare or defence.
• Confident communicator with a proactive, detail‑focused mindset.
• Ability to work independently across multiple sites.
• Relevant memberships (ICWCI, CIOB) and electrical or mechanical qualifications.
• Active Security Clearance (SC or higher).
