Mechanical Associate Director – Building Services

About the role

We are partnering with a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy to appoint a Mechanical Associate Director to join their growing Building Services team in Bristol. This strategic leadership role involves driving project delivery, developing client relationships, mentoring engineering teams, and contributing to business growth across the South West and beyond.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary building services projects from concept through to completion.
• Manage and develop client relationships to secure repeat and new business opportunities.
• Provide technical oversight and quality assurance across mechanical engineering designs.
• Support business development activities, bids and tenders.
• Mentor and develop engineers at all levels.
• Work closely with Directors to support strategic growth plans.
• Manage project financial performance, resource planning and risk management.
• Represent the business at industry events and networking opportunities.

Required profile

• Significant experience within Mechanical Building Services Engineering.
• Proven track record of leading major projects in a consultancy environment.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets and profitability.
• Excellent client‑facing and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience leading and developing high‑performing engineering teams.
• Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards chartership.
• Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• A passion for delivering sustainable and innovative engineering solutions.
