About the role
We are seeking a Mechanical Building Services Engineer to join our growing building services team in Plymouth. The role involves designing and delivering mechanical systems across a varied portfolio of projects, from concept through to construction. You will work within a nationally recognised consultancy that values innovation, mentorship and professional development.
Key responsibilities
- Produce mechanical building services designs for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, domestic water and public health systems.
- Prepare design calculations, technical reports and specifications.
- Develop coordinated models using Revit, CAD and other mechanical design software.
- Ensure compliance with current Building Regulations and relevant industry standards.
- Carry out site surveys, inspections and condition reports, and witness testing activities.
- Participate in design meetings, providing technical input throughout project delivery.
- Coordinate designs with architects, structural and electrical engineers and external consultants.
- Support multidisciplinary project delivery from feasibility studies through to construction.
- Work closely with senior engineers to develop technical knowledge and progress towards professional registration.
Required profile
- Experience within Mechanical Building Services Design.
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- Good understanding of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, water and public health systems.
- Ability to produce calculations, technical reports and specifications.
- Proficiency in Revit, CAD and mechanical design tools.
- Knowledge of Building Regulations and industry standards.
- Experience of site surveys and inspections.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to professional development and registration.
